This year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade will head down Broadway on March 20 beginning at 1 p.m. The grand marshal is lifelong city resident Michael Boyle, who has been a member of the parade committee for 15 years.

In 1981, members of the community of Bayonne joined together to form a committee for the purpose of establishing a Parade Committee to organize, support, and present annually in the month of March a parade to honor the Patron Saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick.  In March of 1982, after an absence of 70 years, Bayonne community members once again formed its first Saint Patrick’s Parade.  From its inception, the parade has been held annually on the Sunday immediately following Saint Patrick’s Day; the exception is when Saint Patrick’s Day itself falls on a Sunday.

There are several Irish organizations in the City of Bayonne that serve as the sponsoring organizations of the parade, which include: The Irish American League of Bayonne, The County Cork Association, The County Donegal Association, The Shamrock Society of Bayonne, Ireland’s 32.

There will be a Post Parade Party immediately following the Parade at Saint Andrew’s School Gym located at 4th Street & Broadway.
