Dollhaus II Set to Reopen with ‘Fever Dreams’

BAYONNE, NJ – Dollhaus II-will celebrate its grand reopening with a “Halloweeny” exhibition called “Fever Dreams,” by new contemporary artist Slaughter DK.

The opening reception will at 6 p.m. on Oct. 7, fearing DJ Ojrd Dwee and a pwerformance by fuse darkwave artist, Forsake Garden industrial synthwave and orchestral sections to create evocative paintings of dystopian commentary irreverence and human condition

The Mikado

“The Mikado; or, The Town of Titipu” is a comic opera in two acts, with music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by W. S. Gilbert, their ninth of fourteen operatic collaborations. It opened on 14 March 1885, in London. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mikado)

A year before the action of this opera begins, Nanki-Poo, son of the Mikado of Japan, fled his father’s imperial court to escape marriage with Katisha, an elderly lady. Disguised as a traveling musician, he met and fell in love with Yum-Yum, the young ward of Ko-Ko, a cheap tailor in the town of Titipu. Yum-Yum, however, was already betrothed to her guardian, and Nanki-Poo left Titipu in despair.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and early detection is key to treating and surviving breast cancer! It’s why we’re offering more opportunities for women age 40+ in Bayonne to get this vital screening. Including:

– FREE breast exams
– Educational materials
– Convenient appointments for mammograms

Services will be available on October 17th and 27th at CarePoint Health Bayonne Medical Center. To sign up, call 201-884-5329 and say that you want to be part of the Mammogram-a-thon.

Most insurances are accepted. If uninsured, a free screening
mammogram is available through the Madeline LoRe Foundation—if you consent to financial screening for assistance; otherwise, the cost is $99. No referral is required if you have not had a screening mammogram within the past 12 months.
