The Bayonne Public Library is welcoming a real African penguin from Jenkinson’s Aquarium for a special program called “Penguin Pointers” on Wednesday, July 15 at 6:30 pm in the Gallery.

The 45 minute presentation will let attendees observe a penguin up close from a safe six foot distance while aquarium keepers demonstrate the daily care that goes into looking after the animal. The program covers penguin biology, geography, feeding habits, and conservation efforts, giving visitors a look at how these birds are cared for and why protecting their habitats matters.

The program is open to all ages and no registration is required. Space will be available on a first come, first served basis, so arriving early is recommended for anyone hoping to get a spot.
