COVID-Safe Bergen Point Outdoor Event Proves to be Successful in Lieu of Fall Festival

Bergen Point celebrated in the streets on Saturday in lieu of their annual fall festival due to COVID-19. The event showcased classic cars, live music, great food, and local vendors this past Saturday.

The fifth event in a series of outdoor events took on a life of its own in the historic section of Bayonne. Event goers were able to ogle historic cars, buy books, listen to live music, paint novelties and even knit.

“We wanted to do something here because this is about the time of year, we would have had the Bayonne Bergen Point Fall Festival,” said City Council President Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski.

Throughout the event you could hear singing from the duo Bennett Rhoad outside the Elbaums market, filling the street with classic rock, jazz, country folk, and pop tunes. A little further up in front of the Bridge Art Gallery, a pick up band of drummer, keyboard, and trumpet played jazz.

This was the perfect opportunity for locals to get out an enjoy some activity before the weather gets to cold to socially distance outdoors.
