September is National Hunger Action Month, which helps raise awareness for the nearly 50 million Americans, including more than 16 million children, suffering from food insecurity. To recognize this special month, community leaders, like Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis, was on hand to help raise awareness of the issue of hunger by bagging groceries
ShopRite is hosting a series of ShopRite Partners In Caring “Help Bag Hunger” days in many of its stores across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. ShopRite is helping to raise awareness and inspire action within their local communities through its hunger-fighting initiative, ShopRite Partners In Caring, a year-round, community based program that provides funds to local food banks. Since its inception in 1999, ShopRite Partners In Caring has donated $50 million to local food banks, supporting more than 2,200 charities that feed the hungry in communities served by ShopRite stores.
