A winning Jersey Cash 5 ticket worth more than $614,000 was purchased at Bayonne liquor store, New Jersey Lottery officials announced.
The one ticket out of 659,716 purchased that matched the winning numbers in Wednesday’s drawing — 04, 08, 26, 33 and 35 — was sold at Massarelli Liquors at 403 Broadway.
Massarelli’s will be a $2,000 bonus check for selling the jackpot ticket, officials said. D.M. Patel, one of the owners, said the store sold a lottery ticket worth roughly $200,000 about 15 years ago.
He was delighted to find out about the bonus and said news of the jackpot ticket sale would likely attract more customers to the liquor store.
“It’s good because it brings the people inside,” he said.
