As reported by tapinto.net, this summer, Nicholas Oresko Community School has been abuzz with activity as elementary students from across the district gathered for the 2025 Summer Learning Academy (SLA).
Led by Dr. Jamie Smith, the academy provided enriching experiences in literacy, math, science, social studies, physical education, STEM, the arts, and world languages—all delivered through engaging, hands-on learning, welcoming nearly 300 students in grades 4 through 6.
The Summer Learning Academy staff, a dedicated team of over 35 educators, ensured students were supported academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, they transformed the summer months into a season of growth, discovery, and joyful learning, district officials said.
