Bayonne One Block Parade Has Irish Eyes Smiling on St. Patrick’s Day

As reported by tapinto.net, in what some may see as a precursor to the main event on Sunday, a large crowd gathered along the sidewalk and on Broadway near 42nd Street for Bayonne’s 4th annual St. Patrick’s Day one block parade Monday.

Sponsored by the Davis Family and the Well & Grill, the parade featured Taylor Redondo as Grand Marshal, accompanied by the grand marshals of the previous three marches.

Although the event featured a number of dignitaries that included Mayor Jimmy Davis, members of the City Council and two state assembly members representing Bayonne, many of those who attended the event were from the neighborhood, wearing kelly green shirts and a variety of green Irish hats.

Bagpipes and drums provided an Irish music sound track for the march, while a self-described leprechaun look -alike bartender dished out glasses of beer in front of The Well, the inside of which was stuffed with even more well-wishers.
